The IBCLC designation is the highest standard of professional achievement in lactation care. It signifies that the holder has completed rigorous training and passed a comprehensive exam. IBCLCs come from diverse backgrounds and work in various settings. They are passionate about breastfeeding and chestfeeding, with extensive experience in assisting parents and their babies. With their specialised skills and knowledge, IBCLCs can help you navigate complex breastfeeding and chestfeeding situations. They are committed to providing ethical, evidence-based care that is tailored to your individual needs and goals.
An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is considered the “gold” standard of practice amongst the different support credentials for breastfeeding. You can read more about IBCLCs and what makes them different from other breastfeeding support here.
Research has shown that working with an IBCLC can:
-
Improve the care parents and infants receive
-
Increase the likelihood of achieving breastfeeding goals

Absolutely, I am trained to support with all types of baby feeding care including mix feeding and formula feeding.
I am committed to ensuring the safety of all my clients. I will wash my hands when I arrive and wear gloves before performing oral assessments. While I don't require clients to wear masks, I'm happy to do so upon request. Please feel free to ask when I arrive at your property. If any household members are feeling unwell, please let me know before my visit. I can usually reschedule or move our consultation to an online video platform. In the event I need to cancel due to illness within my own household, I'll offer a reschedule or a full refund.
Many parents will ask this question when approaching a return to work. If you want to continue feeding when you return to work there are ways to achieve this we can work together to create a plan that supports your breastfeeding desires, even after returning to work. I offer group sessions and one-on-one consultations to help you balance nursing and work. Let's discuss your goals and create a plan that works for you.
Yes, my foundational approach is always hands-off support. As a breastfeeding peer supporter, I'm trained to provide empowering guidance without physical intervention after all we want you to feel confident feeding your baby on your own when my support isn’t to hand! I'll offer suggestions and support your positioning, but I'll always avoid touching your breast/chest or your baby directly. In some cases, I may place a hand on your hand if necessary and will always seek your enthusiastic consent before doing so.
To ensure fairness to all clients and account for administrative costs, a partial fee may be charged for cancellations. This fee helps to offset the lost income and resources associated with the appointment. Please note that if I cancel the appointment, I will offer a full refund or reschedule or endeavour to connect you with another IBCLC. Please provide the following notice for cancellations:
-
48+ hours: 80% refund
-
24-48 hours: 50% refund
-
Less than 24 hours: no refund
-
