In 2013, I experienced a peaceful, positive birth when I welcomed my daughter into my world. The postpartum period or 'fourth trimester' was a time of profound transition, evolving and connection as my family supported me in recovering from birth, breastfeeding and caring for my newborn. The love, compassion, and care I received as a new parent inspired me to pay that forward by becoming a birth doula in 2016 by attending Paramana Doula, a course led by internationally renowned obstetrician Michel Odent and experienced London doula, Lilliana Lammers.
I believe that the way we birth has a profound impact on our lives and our babies, shaping our experiences well into adulthood. History has shown that birthing people can have safe, physiological births with minimal medical intervention. As a birth doula, I'm committed to holding you duirng this tender time and sharing tools that encourage an experience in which you feel confident, informed and empowered to navigate the maternity system and meet your baby.

Birth Doula

As a birth doula, I offer in-person meetings in London during your pregnancy. Within those we will get to know one another and I will provide support and guidance for preparing for your birth. I am guided by your individual needs but we may discuss:
-
Birth physiology
-
Birth preferences
-
Birth education
-
Mindfulness techniques
-
Comfort tools
-
Labour situations
-
Decision-making
-
Informed consent
-
Tools for alleviating anxiety and stress
-
Discussion of postnatal period preparation
-
Infant feeding education
-
Advocacy
I offer:
-
In-person meetings during pregnancy
-
During labour and birth, I’ll be by your side, ensuring both you and your partner receive attentive care and support
-
Once you are all settled at home I’ll make two additional visits to support your transition to the fourth trimester
-
Postnatally, as a birth Doula, I aim to take care of you, offer a debrief about the birth experience, and address any feeding challenges that may arise in the early days
-
I’ll offer to cook a nutritious meal, demonstrate how to wear your new baby in a sling, and make sure you have space to release any emotions and be heard with warmth and compassion
-
Additionally, I’ll guide you on basic body restoration and recovery
My offer includes ongoing virtual support up to 12 weeks after your baby is born.
I believe in individualised birthing, that the birthing person’s voice is the most important in the room and they should be supported to birth the way they wish to while holding space for evidenced-based information and guidance. I understand that unforeseen circumstances result in the necessity for medical intervention and am extremely thankful for these resources being available to those who rely on them. That being said, I find it questionable when interventions are suggested due to hospital policy rather than strong evidence-based information, research and centring of the individuals involved. You are the expert on your body, baby and lived experience, I am committed to honouring this and supporting you on your journey whatever route that may take.
Initially began practising yoga during my first pregnancy eleven years ago. I used it as a tool for managing anxiety and building attunement as I held awareness of the changes in my body, and to nurture a deeper connection with myself. Yoga helped me build mental resilience and provided a space for honest reflection. Over the past decade yoga has continued to be an incredible lifeline to me throughout many difficult transitions such as: during pregnancy, restoring health in my body postnatally, bereavement, the global trauma of a pandemic, pregnancy loss, and supporting my mental health. Furthermore, yoga has been immensely beneficial as a general meditative, spiritual and physical maintenance. I've explored various styles, including yin, dharma, rocket, kundalini, juvamukti, restorative, and ashtanga.
Through my own experiences with practising yoga and my work as a doula, I've witnessed the profound benefits it can offer, including building mental resilience, providing a space for introspection or navigating life's transitions and challenges such as postnatal recovery, anxiety, and pregnancy loss. I offer personalised pregnancy yoga and mindfulness sessions in London and online, tailoring my approach to your needs and goals. Whether you're seeking relaxation, pain relief, or simply a way to connect with your baby, yoga can be a valuable tool.
By choosing pregnancy yoga with me you'll have the opportunity to learn about the anatomy of the body during pregnancy, and access birth preparation plus gain an understanding of asana, mudra, pranayama, savasana and yoga nidra during birth.
In my role as a doula, the aim is very much to “be” and hold a loving, nurturing space while a person is birthing or discovering their new identity as a parent. This “being” is something I strive to harness through every corner of life as well as advocate for others.
I believe this is an ultimate right for us all and reclaiming this right for me is a form of activism in a society which places excessive value on non-stop productivity. I adore the space that yoga and mindfulness can open up for stillness of our mind, body and soul. I feel a call to encourage others to utilise yoga to embody the feelings of stillness and feel the positive impact it can have throughout navigating the ebbs and flows of life - especially pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
Discover the transformative power of pregnancy yoga and embark on a journey of self-discovery, grounding, and empowerment.
Testimonials
James
" found Robyn to be an exceptional doula. She was engaging, friendly, intuitive and supportive. Despite the uncertainty caused by the pandemic Robyn provided a calming and stable presence which enabled my partner and I to remain equally calm. I don’t think Robyn proffered advice throughout the pregnancy but instead listened, asked thoughtful and considered questions and then supported us with any decision that we made. Our birth process did not go as we had first envisaged. However, with Robyn’s support, and the techniques that she enabled us to develop, my partner and I could see the birthing process in a far more positive way than we may have otherwise."
Sarah & Henry
"Robyn is a very professional and knowledgeable doula, and her warm and grounded personality made us feel at ease in the process of becoming parents. Her support and guidance were exactly what we were hoping for and we are truly grateful for the positive influence she had.
We honestly believe we would not have been able to have such a wholesome and positive experience without her help. Always calm and reassuring, she emits such a caring and empathetic energy. If we have another baby, we will definitely ask Robyn to be there again."
Anna
"Robyn is a wonderful doula. She has a very non-judgmental, empathic approach and is a great listener. It's hard to imagine that I would have had the home birth I had without her. She provided so much support not only to me but to my partner too and I know he felt more equipped to support me as a result.
Robyn shared so much knowledge with us in the first few weeks after birth. I believe my breastfeeding journey was able to get off to such a successful start because of her support and guidance. She also has great knowledge around slings, and we were able to use one very early on and build confidence in doing this with her guidance."

Sliding Scale Fee Structure
I offer everyone a free, 20-minute phone consultation.
Contact me to learn more.
I am commited to being as accessible as possible and offer a sliding scale for my services. I do not request proof of income, as I believe trust is foundational to my relationship with my clients.
Below, I have listed the tiers of the sliding scale.
Solidarity
While I am able to meet my essential needs, I have to be mindful of the most cost-effective ways to do so. My income is limited and varies, making budgeting a constant challenge.
I prioritise finding the most affordable housing options and often find it difficult to afford holidays or outings.
Without savings, family support, or inherited wealth, I am concerned about my long-term financial security
Low
I am mindful of my income, which can sometimes be a source of stress. However, I am fortunate to have the flexibility to prioritise my desired living arrangements and can typically afford one holiday per year.
My limited savings, along with family support and potential future inheritance, provide a small safety net. This reassurance allows me to generally feel confident about my financial future.
Standard
I find spending my disposable income to be a stress-free and enjoyable experience. I am fortunate to live in a desirable home, whether rented or owned, and can afford multiple vacations annually.
My financial resources, including savings, family support, or potential inheritance, provide a safety net. This allows me to feel confident about my financial security and the management of my debt.
Postnatal Doula
During pregnancy, focus is directed towards preparing for labour and birth, but what happens when you have your sweet baby in your arms and need to settle in at home? The postnatal period is when you discover your baby, yourself as a parent and slowly adjust to this new identity and also, sometimes, grieve your previous one. This experience requires time, patience, and a well-informed support network. breastfeeding advice, infant feeding s
Looking after our needs can often be overlooked during this time as attending to the immediate demands of caring for a newborn takes priority.
Before your baby arrives, it’s a great idea to consider what might make life easier postnatally during your pregnancy. This can be looking at your immediate support network and discussing with them what help you might need, or inviting a doula to join you during this time to provide some professional support.
As a postnatal doula I really encourage my clients to do nothing but bond and care for their babies during the early weeks. Surrender to this time and allow their bodies to rest, heal and recover from the enormous and amazing job of growing and birthing their baby. Prioritising mental space, emotions, and physical recovery in the first few months lays the foundation for how parents and baby’s first year together play out.
Of course, much of it is unpredictable but there are some steps you can take to help this babymoon time go as smoothly as possible. As your postnatal doula, I strive to be a calm, knowledgeable and reassuring presence to you – encouraging your family to glide to your own rhythm and beat. Seeing the change many of us wish to see in the world begins with emphatically supporting our families.

"Robyn is just incredible in every way. I struggled with breastfeeding my first child so I sought Robyn’s help for my second. Immediately she made me feel calm and comfortable. Her presence alone took me to a better place. She really listens and always had words of wisdom for anything I was struggling with.
I was blown away by her passion for what she does and her wealth of knowledge. She’s supportive, brilliant, peaceful, caring, patient, humble, and so much more. I’m so very grateful to have had Robyn, and her lovely daughter, on my motherhood journey with me."
- Jessie

"Robyn is nothing short of fantastic - she helped me in the first 4 weeks of motherhood and I can honestly say I would not be the mum I am now if not for her!
Her knowledge of all things baby is vast, including breastfeeding and baby wearing, and she's able to impart in a very unobtrusive way - empowering you to make your own decisions and have a far better understanding of your baby."
- Amelie

"I always felt listened to, supported and always in control and having Robyn there through a long pregnancy and a long and little bit challenging labour was incredibly reassuring, positive and healthy! I would highly recommend Robyn to anyone that's unsure about having a Doula and sending love and wellness your way!"
